What is a Personal Financial Management Course?

A.K.A. Debtor Education, Post-Filing Debtor Education, Pre-Discharge Bankrupcy Course, Second Bankruptcy Course

Known by a number of names, MoneyRehab® Personal Financial Management Course is required at the END of your bankruptcy proceedings. At the stage where you need this course, you should already have completed your Credit Counseling course and you already have your bankruptcy case number.

If you have not yet received your bankruptcy case number, you more than likely need a PRE-BANKRUPTCY Credit Counseling course, which we do not provide. Please consult the U.S. Department of Justice Trustee Website for Credit Counseling providers.

- Paper for note-taking
- Writing instrument(s): pen(s) or pencil(s)
- Calculator (Optional - One is available to you on each slide page.)
Couples registered for the course are required to take and complete the course separately by logging in with their individual username and login information.
See it: As required by the U.S. DOJ, this is a timed course and will take a minimum 2-hours to complete.
See it: Slides are individually timed.
See it: A chime will sound and a checkmark will appear at the end of the slide time. Uncheck the "Chime active" box to turn the chime off.
See it: Forward navigation is only enabled when the minimum amount of time required for the slide has elapsed the first time the slide is visited.
See it: Use the slide index on the right side of the slide to navigate to recently completed slides.
See it: Slides are only timed the first time that they are completed - you are free to browse completed slides at any time.
See it: Some slides require that you complete a quiz before advancing. Flags will appear and the quiz will be located at the bottom of the slide.
See it: Should you need a calculator, click the calculator icon to bring up the calculator window.
The course is designed for you to complete at your own pace, though we recommend that you complete the 2 hour course in no more than 4 sessions, though this isn’t mandatory.
If you take a break, you may need to log back in. You will automatically return to the course at the same place where you left off.
While not graded, quizzes must be answered correctly before you may advance to the next slide.
You will be asked to complete a course evaluation at the end of the course, though completion of the evaluation isn’t mandatory.
